Kick start your career at DMH Stallard

Our dedicated training team work closely with our legal and support teams to help provide the necessary support as our staff and partners continue to develop their careers with us.

We recruited Alex as a Reception & Office Services Assistant initially, she quickly progressed into a Paralegal role and has now secured a Training Contract to start in 2024.

  • Career development

    DMH Stallard fully supports career development. For the firm to be successful and make the most of the opportunities in the marketplace, it is very important that our staff are encouraged and assisted to achieve their full potential. It is in our interest to help you develop your career as quickly as possible and you can count on our support at all times. We recognise that everyone has a valuable contribution to make to DMH Stallard in different ways and at different levels.

     

    The learning and development provision throughout the firm is regarded as first-rate and continues to be a key strength of the firm, the new people development structure is improving the alignment between learning and development (for all employees, not just the professionally qualified) and the business. Every year everyone is invited to participate in a review process called AROM (Annual Review of Objectives Meeting). This meeting encourages the review of performance, learning and development needs and career progression.

     

    We encourage employees with their progression both within their teams to more senior roles and with moves across the business from business support roles, to roles within fee-earning groups.

  • SQE

    We are still finalising our strategy to transition from traditional route LPC graduate trainees to the SQE and have a pilot scheme underway. We will provide an update once our strategy is confirmed.

  • Apprenticeships

    We currently have an apprentice in our Credit Control team working towards the Chartered Institute of Credit Management Level 2. We hope to introduce more apprentices across the business in the near future.

  • Work experience

    DMH Stallard makes a limited number of one week unpaid work experience placements available for undergraduate and postgraduate students wishing to gain practical experience of working in a law firm. This is aimed at students who have not yet gained a training contract and wish to gain an insight into life at DMH Stallard.

     

    At the current time the work experience scheme is separate from the selection process for the Training Contracts. The aim of our work experience programme is to enable people, at any stage during their legal education, to experience a slice of life in a Law Firm.

     

    Our summer work experience programme has been fully reinstated after a pause due to remote and hybrid working. However, placements for summer 2024 are now fully booked. We will accept applications for placements for summer 2025 towards the end of this year and will update the website with details on how to apply closer to the time.

     

    Please note we do not arrange work experience during the Christmas and Easter holidays.
