How our planning team works
Many – if not most – businesses are affected by environmental law and regulation and need to be aware of their responsibilities and potential liabilities.
We guide our clients through this complex regulatory arena to help them to make decisions that will benefit their business and keep them up to date with the evolving legislation.
We have a strong track record in dispute resolution and are regularly involved in groundbreaking cases, on issues such as statutory and private nuisance and prosecutions by, and disputes with, the Environment Agency, Natural England and local authorities.
Our clients range from restaurants to waste companies, cutting edge farms and international drinks manufacturers.
We have a particular expertise in the waste and renewables industry and in depth knowledge of the issues that clients in this sector must overcome to be profitable in this complex and consolidating sector.

How we've helped
We successfully submitted an application for change of use on behalf of Sweeptech Environmental Services LLP. Sweeptech created and patented a clean, odourless and quiet material recycling process that delivers a recycling disposal remedy for waste generated by or collected in road tankers and road sweepers. They needed a new site in order to grow their business and the application was for a change of use from storage and distribution to a waste recycling facility. It involved significant pre-application discussions, environmental impact assessment screening, public consultation exercises and co-ordination of all technical and expert reports.
