Corporate Social Responsibility

Our commitment to you

We are proud supporters of our community and dedicated to lending our time to local projects, whether we are getting hands on or raising money so our charity partners can continue to provide necessary services to those who need them. We have long standing relationships with several organisations but we are always keen to hear about new initiatives that may need a helping hand.

Our CSR Committee is led by Partner, Simon Bellm, who is supported by representatives across the firm to work alongside charities and come up with fundraising ideas everyone can get involved in.

How we've helped

DMH Stallard are delighted to be partnering with Cherry Trees for this year’s ‘Jazz in the Vineyard’.

Their annual Jazz event at the stunning High Clandon Estate Vineyard welcomes guests from across Surrey to enjoy a stroll around the beautiful gardens, a tasty treat from the BBQ, and a world-class Jazz performance.

Vocalist, songwriter and former West End leading lady Natasha Seale leads a stellar band in celebration of Duke Ellington, featuring award-winning saxophonist Alan Barnes and critically-acclaimed pianist Gareth Williams.

We have a long-lasting relationship with Cherry Trees, and have supported them over many years with painting and DIY at their house as well as a variety of employee fundraising activities. We are really excited that this relationship continues to grow, as we become one of their headline sponsors for ‘Jazz in the Vineyard’.

Alex Dawson, Associate at DMH Stallard, stated that:

“DMH are proud to support Cherry Trees, a charity which has such a positive impact on the local and wider community. The funds raised go towards helping families with children and young adults with a range of complex disabilities.

It is always a pleasure to fundraise and volunteer with Cherry Trees, whether that’s walking 20-miles with colleagues from different offices, to clearing the grounds so that the children have more outdoor space to enjoy. Thankfully, our legal skills are better than our DIY and maintenance skills. The staff are always incredibly grateful and appreciative of our involvement and we are pleased to be a sponsor at the Jazz in the Vineyard event this Summer.”

Change of Scene

Change of Scene is a charity based in Farnham, who offer animal assisted learning to young people who may be experiencing difficulties in education.

DMH Stallard were invited to Change of Scene in April 2023 to assist with farming maintenance and upkeep. The team’s work involved: herding alpacas and [Swiss] sheep (with some challenges); disassembling the enclosure and fence; reassembling the enclosure and fence on adjoining land; and safely relocating the animals onto a neighbouring field.

Alex Dawson said “There were spells of rain and strong gusts of wind, but we ploughed on”.

During the 2021-22 academic year, DMH Stallard partnered up with accountancy firm Kreston Reeves to deliver a mentoring initiative to students at Portslade Aldridge Community Academy (PACA). The programme is called Dare to Dream, and it is a Love Local Jobs Foundation initiative. The foundation is a community interest company with a vision to raise the life and career aspirations of the next generations across Sussex.

Dare to Dream aims to develop vital life skills, boost self-confidence, and help the next generation realise their potential and is spearheaded by local celebrity Jack ‘the Lad’ Hayes. Mentors from DMH Stallard and Kreston Reeves worked with Jack throughout the school year, giving presentations to the year 10 PACA year group and mentoring a select group of students. We organised a clothing drive to support two London based charities, Suited & Booted and Smart Works. The event was organised to collect clothing from members of the firm which could be donated to unemployed people, supported by the charities, to provide professional office clothing for job interviews. We collected a total of 13 boxes of clothing including suits, shirts, blazers, dresses and accessories as part of this initiative. Read more

75 staff from across our business have taken part in two treks in the past year, covering the distance from St Catherine’s Hospice to the North Pole and back, and from the Hospice to Tokyo, by running, walking, cycling and many other activities and logging their combined progress to cover the distance. The money raised from our efforts went towards the building of their new hospice.

Other charities we have supported include:
We also have a long standing relationship with IntoUniversity, a social mobility charity that provides local learning centres where young people are inspired to achieve. We have supported IntoUniversity by providing volunteers for their Corporate Mentoring Scheme. Here, our staff volunteer their time to attend one to one meetings with young people that are in their final year of sixth form/college education as they apply for and attend university, helping to guide them through that process and the many important decisions associated with it.
