The latest (6th) edition of Neate and Godfrey on Bank Confidentiality, published by Bloomsbury Professional in association with the International Bar Association, was announced at a recent reception hosted at DMH Stallard’s offices in London.
Delegates from across the Banking industry were addressed by Key Note Speaker, Eric Leenders, Executive Director, Retail and Private Banking, British Bankers’ Association.
Two of DMH Stallard’s partners contributed to the book. Gwen Godfrey, Partner and Head of Banking and Finance at DMH Stallard is the book’s General Editor and she co-writes the English chapter with Simon Elcock, Partner and Head of the firm’s dispute resolution group.
The book provides a comprehensive guide to the duties and obligations a bank has to protect the privacy of its customers; it is particularly important and topical given recent developments around how banks protect their customer data. It also deals with the competing pressures on banks for transparency with authorities and regulators in the fight against money laundering and tax evasion.
The evening also raised funds for MacMillan Cancer Support.
