Commercial Law

Our commercial lawyers are your first port of call when seeking advice and support on a broad range of operational, commercial and contractual matters that are an inevitable part of your business life.

With so many of our commercial solicitors drawn directly from commercial backgrounds (having worked in-house or managed businesses themselves), we are proud to be known as “the business people who just happen to be lawyers.”

From new and fast-growing enterprises to established national and multinational brands, we work with you nationally, across London and the South East and internationally through Law Europe International.

"The DMH Stallard team are innovative thinkers who are ready to work under pressure in order to meet client deadlines. They offer robust feedback and advice to important and potentially contentious issues, drawing on the expertise of other members in the company to access the best advice."

What our commercial lawyers do

From day-to-day commercial agreements to supply chain management, procurement and routes to market, our commercial lawyers work with you to provide the information and advice you need to make informed and commercially successful business decisions.

We offer specialist services covering business advisory; routes to market; supply chain management; IT contracts; information law; outsourcing / insourcing; and other business contracts.

In addition to DMH Stallard’s commercial lawyers, the firm has dedicated commercial dispute resolution teams dealing with contractual and financial disputes, and intellectual property and information technology disputes. The firm also has a focused Technology, Media and Telecomms sector group which brings together lawyers from a number of our practice areas in order to deliver the best results if you are operating in this sphere.

What they say

"Very good attention to detail and understanding of unique issues. Work quickly and accurately."

How our commercial lawyers work

A commercial and pragmatic business philosophy runs through everything we do for you.

Many of our team have worked in industry as business owners, managers or in-house counsel. We also train our lawyers in commercial awareness, and regularly send them on secondments to work in-house with our clients.

The result is a specialist team of commercial lawyers who truly understand the issues businesses face and who are well placed to exercise legal and commercial judgment to help you solve problems and achieve your objectives.

You may already know exactly what you want to achieve, making it our role to help you reach those goals in a constructive legal manner rather than treating the law as an obstacle.

On other occasions, you may choose to draw on our extensive experience for advice on the commercial aspects of a deal or venture, usually in addition to a full legal analysis. By discussing your priorities, our commercial lawyers assess the risks within the business and help you identify which ones are acceptable and which need to be reduced or, where possible, removed.
